  1. Eye contact is important. However, the amount of eye contact each person engages in is different and varies with the environment and the person they are talking with. For example, have you ever tried to have a discussion with someone who is watching a TV program or an event that they are really interested in? That person usually has a difficult time maintaining eye contact with you. Our brains are amazing organs and are able to process many things at once, such as a conversation with you and making sure that they are aware of the environment around them.
