The Note

Calina's Story

Our last stop at the orphanage was in the office where we were handed a small piece of gold.

Born on August 21, 2011.

We can hardly afford to raise her.

We appreciate some kind-hearted people can adopt and raise her.

It is the note her parents left with her when they placed her in the lawn in Bishagang Park.  How is that for amazing?  Calina will always know the good intentions of her birth parents.

She was one month old.  The note was written on outpatient paper; there are a couple of big hospitals near the park.  In China, the mothers are supposed to spend on month recovering indoors with their infant following childbirth (at home, or at a hospital).  No open windows, no showers, no brushing teeth, no cold anything.  They are to eat warm soup, black chicken, and other remedies to stimulate milk production.  Presumably…
